An Intergated Practice
Registered Psychologist | with Master of Child Play Therapy
Our Registered Psychologist operates in a unique role that combines active classroom-based engagement with professional psychological insights, supporting both our daily operations and our families.
A Gentle Approach to Big Feelings: With a psychologist on-site, we are uniquely equipped to support children through anxiety and social complexities. We don’t just observe play; we provide the steady, in-situational co-regulation children deserve to feel safe in their exploration. Working directly alongside our team of educators, our psychologist provides real-time co-regulation mentoring during daily inquiry and play. By interpreting ‘the Hundred Languages’ of emotional communication, they help educators translate psychological insights into daily practice, using play-based strategies that help children navigate moments of high emotional intensity within the communal space without removing them from the group environment.
Collaborative Care & Continuity: The psychologist acts as a professional voice when collaborating with external clinical partners, such as pediatricians and occupational therapists. They ensure that external clinical goals are seamlessly and appropriately translated into our preschool environment while protecting the child’s sense of agency and right to an inclusive educational experience.
Family Partnerships: We believe lasting change happens when school and home are in harmony. Our psychologist works closely with our families to create a deeply supportive environment, ensuring the child’s emotional needs are advocated for in every aspect of their life. To empower our families and the greater community, our psychologist facilitates a monthly calendar of parent presentations. This regular catalogue of educational events and focused workshops ensures that parents are equipped with the very same therapeutic tools and strategies we use within our preschool.
Family Consultations: In addition to community presentations and workshops, our Registered Psychologist is available for individual appointments after 3pm to speak directly with families and provide tailored parenting support.
